Geneva. We are a Christian church, connected to the living tradition of the Reformed faith and the historic confessions of the Christian church. The Reformed faith can be traced to Geneva, Switzerland, where John Calvin led a community of believers seeking to reform the church of the 16 th century.
Campus. We are located in the Crossing Building, 1127 University Avenue, Madison, Wisconsin. Situated on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, we see the university as our primary setting for ministry. We believe we are called to equip and develop our student members while they are with us and to send them out to serve God wherever they go.
Church. Geneva was founded in 1967 as an outreach ministry to students, and in 1991 was organized as a congregation of the Christian Reformed Church in North America. If you would like to know more about Geneva, contact Rev. Mike Winnowski at the church office, 251-0860, or at info@genevacampuschurch.org
We exist as a congregation to glorify God by learning to live out, model and share with everyone the new life which is ours in Jesus Christ. We call others to hear the gospel and accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. We affirm Christ crucified, risen and coming again. And we recognize his presence in us during our earthly lives through the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit.
Sunday worship services begin at 10:00 a.m. An Adult Education class and Sunday School for ages four through high school begin at 9:00 a.m. A nursery is provided during the Sunday School hour and during the worship service. A pastor's class is offered periodically for those wishing to learn more about the church and its confessions.
University Ministry at Geneva includes ministry to and with students and faculty, and engagement of the university at large through the Geneva Forum and other events.
Bible study, discipleship, and prayer groups are offered at various times. Many of Geneva's students choose to participate in similar activities through Christian organizations on campus, such as InterVarsity and Campus Crusade.
Fellowship activities are planned throughout the year. See the calendar for upcoming events. Potlucks happen the third Sunday each month. Households are small groups that meet in homes for fellowship, study, and prayer. Post-undergrad young adults enjoy social events through our 20's and 30's group.
Youth Ministry programs at Geneva help instruct children in the faith, and encourage and sustain them in the fellowship of believers. Programs include nursery, Sunday School, children's worship, and youth group.
Service projects are part of the life of Geneva. Some of the activities we participate in include the Intervarsity International Student Tour of Madison, Angel Tree ministry, Interfaith Hospitality Network, and the Dane County Paint-a-thon.
We welcome participation in Geneva's ministries. For more information contact the church office at 251-0860, or e-mail info@genevacampuschurch.org.
