Geneva's pastor, administrative assistant, and student interns are assisted by lay leaders. Lay leaders include members of Geneva's council, made up of elders, deacons, and chairs of ministry teams. The ministry teams include Worship, Congregational Life, Outreach, and Youth Ministry.
I am a UW alumnus (BA-history '81, MA-Classics '90), and in my student days I was a member of Geneva Campus Church. The time I spent here, and the people I spent time with, were hugely important in my personal and spiritual development. I left Madison, somewhat to my own surprise, to go to seminary. Since then, I have served as a campus minister at the University of South Dakota, a Harbor Chaplain in Montreal, Quebec, and pastor of a congregation in Waterloo, Ontario.
As Pastor of Geneva Campus Church, I am called to teach and live out God's Word, and to help others to do the same. My hope is that Geneva can continue to make as much difference in the lives of students today as it made in my own life.
I am married to Beth (also a UW alum), an English as a Second Language teacher. Beth and I have three children, Lucy, Zoe and Clio. In my spare time (whatever that means), I play hockey and do as much biking as I can, which helps me to stay sane and to keep up with my children.
I've been a member of Geneva since 1989 and on staff since early 2000. In my role as Administrator, I help keep our ministries on track and everyone on the same page. I learned most of my administrative skills through various roles at Geneva, and at home: parenting five daughters, managing our home, and being Bob's wife. Grace, Laura, Kate and Rose are in college or launching their careers; high-school senior Evelyn is still at home.
