Outreach Activities
Genevans participate in many acts of service
Why do Genevans consider outreach important?
As Christians, we believe we are called to
- show love and goodness which result from knowing and loving God
- stand boldly for truth, personal holiness and social justice
- provide a safe haven for the broken and needy
- share with everyone the grace and salvation God offers in the gospel
- be discipled and disciple others, based upon Jesus and his teachings.
What are some ways Genevans get involved in outreach?
Outreach and service projects are an important part of life at Geneva. Genevans serve in:
- The U.W. International Tour of Madison, which welcomes newly arrived international students to our city each fall
- Angel Tree, which benefits prisoners and their families at Christmas
- International development projects
- The Road Home, a ministry to Madison's homeless
- Paint-a-thon, a county program providing volunteer house painting to the elderly and disabled
- Mission trips undertaken by individual Genevans (often students or recent grads) but supported by the whole church, financially and in prayer
- Support of foreign and home missionaries, as well as our denomination's relief agency, the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee.
How is outreach encouraged at Geneva?
Geneva's Outreach Team
- prays about Geneva's outreach efforts and encourages the congregation to do the same
- oversees outreach to the university and works alongside other Christian organizations on campus
- encourages and equips Genevans to share the good news of salvation.
In addition, the Deacons oversee benevolence and hands-on service projects in which Genevans are involved.
