HOURS & SCHEDULE
20 - 25 hours/week
Sundays 10:00 am - 12:00 pm required
Supervisor will determine set schedule for remaining hours at church office
COMPENSATION
$18,000-22,000, commensurate with experience
2 weeks vacation, employer-contribution to IRA after three years
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Church Administrator (CA) enhances the mission of Geneva Campus Church by administering, supporting, and facilitating the integration of ministry activities. The CA supports the Pastors, as well as other church staff, teams, and committees. The CA manages the administrative life of the church, aiming to enhance, modernize, and streamline administration, communication, and book/record-keeping. The CA is hired by Geneva Campus Church as an at-will employee and evaluated annually.
The CA supports both Pastors and is supervised by the Associate Pastor.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The CA supports Geneva Campus Church in the following areas:
1. Administration: The CA will have authority and responsibility to implement decisions and facilitate ministry activities, working with ministry teams as necessary, in order to allow the church to operate effectively and efficiently. (40%)
Provide administrative support to the Pastors and staff
Attend weekly staff meeting
Oversee routine administrative functions of the church, including maintaining a central calendar for the church, church directory, and visitor log; initiating communication with visitors; administering an annual ministry survey; and other tasks as assigned
Serve as a liaison between Geneva and the building manager at The Crossing
2. Communications: The CA will act as a central hub for communications including ministry teams, congregation members, and church staff. (50%)
Produce weekly communication to the congregation including the preparation of the Weekly Bulletin and midweek Church Announcements
Facilitate communication to volunteers and ministry teams, including emailing reminders to volunteers & leaders, assisting the Geneva Development Committee in sending newsletters and fundraising communication, working with Worship Team to maintain records, and facilitating other communication as needed
Ensure that information on website and social media is up-to-date
Maintain member, alumni, and friends database/mailing list
3. Financial Record-Keeping and Reporting: The CA will assist the Deacons, Treasurer, and Finance Committee in the appropriate maintenance of the church’s financial records. (10%)
Collaborate with the Council, Treasurer, and Finance Committee to ensure excellent communication of financial matters to Council and to the congregation, at the recommendation of the Finance Committee and the direction of Council
Assist the Treasurer and Finance Committee in preparing and submitting all required regulatory and CRC documents and filings
Assist the Treasurer and the Finance Committee in the submission and adherence to all health and benefit related filings and reporting
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Be a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ
Alignment with the vision and beliefs of Geneva Campus Church and, if not already a member, openness to membership in the church
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal amount of direct supervision
Strong planning and organization skills
Works well with pressure of deadlines
Ability to evaluate and improve on present systems
Project management skills, including the ability to monitor and coordinate a wide variety of reports
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and 2 - 5 years of professional ministry or administrative experience
Experience with word processing, spreadsheets and digital file storage including microsoft office suite, and google drive
Experience with bookkeeping software
Graphic design skills
